HP printer is the first name that comes to our mind when we talk about printers. They are efficient devices that works well and compatibly with all devices. But sometimes you find HP printer won’t print due to some error. It can be due to lost connectivity. Another cause of why won’t my HP printer print can be outdated printer driver.
Common troubleshooting ways to fix HP printer not printing:
· Check for any new updates on your software.
· You can check if the printer is working on any other device and if it is working there.
· Make sure that the printer has enough ink in the cartridges.
· Make sure that your printer is directly connected to the main source and not through any other cables or device.
· Download and install the HP Print and Scan doctor software, if you are facing an issue with printer drives.
Fix 1: Check the status of the HP printer.
Ensure that your HP printer tray has enough printing papers. You also need to ensure that none of the papers are stuck or jammed in the paper feed. If there is a paper jam, do not try to remove it like a novice. Contact your manufacturer to solve this issue.
Check the ink level of your printer. Refill if the printer is out of ink. If you are unable to refill the ink, contact the HP printer assistant.
Fix 2: Cancel the current running HP printer jobs
It would be best if you cleared out the stalled printer jobs of your HP printer troubleshooting. Several times, printing jobs can be stuck in the print queue. It can stop all other printing jobs of your printer, and your printer might not accept new print jobs. Clearing all the printing jobs will help in taking the new printing requests. Follow the procedure to remove the print queue:
Type control panel on your Windows search bar and click enter.
The control panel window will open.
Search for “Devices and Printers” and click on it.
In the list of printing devices, search for your HP printer.
Select the printer with a right-click.
From the drop-down list, click on “See what’s printing.”
It will direct you to a new page. Tap the “Printer” menu on the top right, and click on “Open as Administrator” from the drop-down menu.
On the top-right again, open the “Printer” menu and click on “Cancel all documents.” Confirm by clicking on “Yes.”
Fix 3: Try setting your HP Printer as the default printer
Whenever you send a print job, the request goes to the default printer. If your documents are not printing even after your printer is all set, your HP printer is not set as your default printer.
Visit the Control Panel and click on “Devices and Printers.”
Search your HP printer in the list of the printing devices.
Select “Set as default printer” with a right-click from the drop-down menu. To confirm, tap on “Yes.”
A green mark will appear below your HP printer icon, which means your default printer is all set.
